Happy Thursday Sweet Friends. Aaaah! Only two more days to go until the weekend! We can do it!
As you might know from this post, I’ve recently started my new nursing job just coming up to about a month ago. It’s going so well and I’m so happy in this new environment. There are new challenges I’m facing, but learning about this new field of nursing, haematology, is so interesting. There is SO much to learn, and some days I feel a little out of my depth, which means most days I come home exhausted and ready to jump into my cosiest get-up with a hot cup of tea and just relax. Nothing lovelier!
I went back to visit my parents a few weeks ago, to celebrate Fathers Day and it was so sweet. Somewhere in the middle of our visit I happened to walk past my parents bedroom and spotted a rather cute cardigan hanging on my Mama’s wardrobe door. It jumped out to me straight away, this girl can’t walk past anything pastel pink and not notice! I asked my mama about it and she told me that she had knitted it. My mama is incredibly talented, and growing up she was always sewing quilts, silk painting, and creating in some capacity. She made all of my costumes for school or halloween, and also made all my bed quilts when I was little. I still have all of them somewhere, something that precious I could never get rid of.
Immediately I tried the cardigan on… I love going shopping in ‘wardrobe of mama’ (she does not haha), but thankfully this time, she mentioned that the cardi didn’t quite fit her, and would I like it? My answer, absolutely. Since then, I have been living in it, and given that it is mohair wool, its also incredibly warm which is good, as the weather here in Sydney is pretty determined not to warm up for spring just yet. I wish you could experience how sweet and cosy this cardigan is, but since you can’t I’ve linked a few similar designs along with my favourite cosy essentials below. What are your other essentials for a cosy afternoon?
